A character and text driven director, Keturah set out to find a more honest, active telling of Pelléas et Mélisande. With Jonathan Khuner conducting, and a terrific cast of singers, including Kendra Broom, a protegée of Frederica von Stade, she achieved a level of urgency and intensity rarely seen in Debussy’s symbolist piece.

"Director Keturah Stickann kept the proceedings in a tight close-up, bringing the audience right into the lives of these potentially arcane figures."
Joshua Kosman, San Francisco Chronicle

"Pelléas & Mélisande was a brave and daring undertaking for this small, intrepid company. At once powerful and fragile, emotionally loaded and occasionally static, the opera calls for a sophisticated blend of assets."
Steven Winn, San Francisco Classical Voice
"Keturah Stickann provided savvy directing, adding a touch of the mystical to this excellent production."
Jaime Robles, Repeat Performances
"Keturah Stickann was really successful in bringing the multi-facet aspects of Pelléas came to life. In fact, it was astonishing for me to see that she could achieve so much with so little resources that she had."
Michael Anthonio, Parterre
